I found a pretty cool site for cataloging your books in a social fashion similar to flickr’s social tagging system for photos.
It’s called LibraryThing and it’s got all sorts of nifty features to make book enthusiasts go ape.
They also have blog widgets that can be posted on your non-lj blogs or other personal pages.
My profile can be found here: http://www.librarything.com/profile/djmook
I’m still in the process of cataloging my books and have got almost the first 300 entered in. At the moment almost all of these are my bible reference books.

“Is that Styric?” Kalten whispered to Sephrenia. “It doesn’t sound like Styric to me.”
“It gibberish,” she replied scornfully.
Kalten frowned. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them, he whispered. “What part of the world do the Gibbers come from?”
She stared at him, her face baffled.
“Did I say it wrong?” he asked. “Are they called the Gibberese? or maybe the Gibberenians? The people who speak Gibberish, I mean.”
“Oh, Kalten.” She laghed softly. “I love you.”
“What did I say?”
–quote from The Shining Ones by David Eddings
Eddings is a pretty good fantasy writer and this quote had me in stiches. The current series I’m reading, The Tamuli, isn’t as good as the Belgariad or the Mallorean but it has its moments, and this is one of the better ones.

It’s amazing how sometimes we change the message of God to suit our own desires, and then we wonder why nobody is interested.
